The Kim family – father Ki-taek, mother Chung-sook, little girl Ki-jung and child Ki-charm – live in a little semi-storm cellar loft (banjiha), have low-paying brief employments as pizza box organizers, and battle to make a decent living. College understudy Min-hyuk, a companion of Ki-woo's, gives the family a researcher's stone intended to guarantee riches. Leaving to concentrate abroad, he proposes that Ki-charm assume control over his activity as an English guide. Ki-charm acts like a college understudy and is contracted by the rich Park family.
